Japanese Fashion trends Philippines
Besides Anime, Manga, and other sub-pop culture that Japanese brought in the Philippines, one of the most influential culture that they offered was the Japanese Fashion. Nowadays, young gens are adapting to their culture by buying and wearing them daily to their school, work, or just to appreciate it.
Here is one of our friend who is really hook up to their fashion as her apparel is more of a Harjuku centric which is colorful and expresses one's individuality.
Shots where taken by Dave Perez of D Perez PhotoWorkz at La Mesa Eco Park, enjoy!

Cosplay Event: Alodia's Fantasy at SM City Marikina
After going on the event happened in Robinson's Place Manila, I went directly to SM City Marikina to watch and see Alodia on her event titled: Alodia's Fantasy, the first online interactive cosplay show. If you going to visit her website at flippish.com, the number one all filipino video channel; like a youtube but with a Filipino taste; well, it is comparable to cge.tv channel 72 on sky-cable, and owned by ABS-CBN; in simple terms you will watch live streaming of the said competition online through flippish.com in realtime.
It will gain popularity and view to her account which is good. The date of the event is October 8, 2011 at 2pm; When I was there at SM Cyberzone there are already some contestant preparing for the show. Many spectators are excited to see Alodia with her sister Ashley on the event.
I assume that the start of the show will follow the Filipino time (the time of the event will start at 2pm sharp, but, in Filipino time, the show will definitely start at 3pm), but I was wrong, because the show started around that time.
30 contestant battled for the top three on the event, but, instead of three there were four top cosplayer on the. Well the show is nice plus the introduction of live streaming of the event which I think it is getting popular; the last time that I experience this kind of innovation was in Jack Daniels event in Eastwood City Libis. By the way, I also put up a photo gallery for those who missed the event at SM City Marikina. Hope you like it. Cosplaymania 2011 / SM Cosplay Tournament Of Champion 2
After a year that I did not attend any cosplay event, this would my first time again to attend a cosplay event. Cosplaymania 2011 / SM Cosplay Tournament Of Champion 2 held its event at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines; its a two day event. I did not attend the first day because I assume that the was cancelled due to typhoon Quiel, but, I was wrong.
My friend attend the first day, which, I think it was regret not to go on the first day. I am also glad friends who appreciate this was also on this event, and some that are also into other hobbies like videogames. Well, what can I say, many hobbyist and cosplayer attended the second day. Tight security on the premises was implemented because of the incident happened in SM Pampanga; bottles and pointy things like ballpen are not allowed on the event. The ticket cost at 100 and 150. All cosplayers from different cartoons, anime, and comics are there on the event to display to people.
One thing that I observe is that, the appreciation of cosplay culture was growing here in the Philippines. From 2008, cosplay culture was appreciated by few, but now, you can see cosplayers are with their parents, which is a good thing because their parents are supporting their kids hobby, plus SM also embrace this culture by having an event. Competitors from different SM Malls are in one event, to brag who is the better cosplayer. Over all I enjoy the said event having your friend taking pictures of cosplayers and having fun. The next cosplay event will be on October 9, 2011 at SM Megatrade hall; Asian Pop 2011.
By the way if you have any friend who is in the gallery maybe you can share the link on this website, or share the link to other websites or forums. And if you like the webpage, please do click the +1 button below. Please do add me at Facebook and Google+ - http://plus.google.com/100627981141253246134. Thank You Very Much and see you on the next event.
